Pregnancy
(AFP) – 18 hours ago
WASHINGTON — Pregnant women in Norway who got vaccinated against the swine flu virus that caused the 2009-2010 pandemic showed no increased risk of pregnancy loss, contrary to popular belief, says a study released Thursday.
Pregnant women who came down with the flu did however have increased risk of miscarriage and still birth, said the study carried out in Norway.
Scientists at the US National Institutes of Health and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health published their findings online in the New England Journal of Medicine.
During the H1N1 flu pandemic, Norway urged pregnant women to get vaccinated. But some expectant mothers shied from this after news reports of pregnancy losses after flu shots.
The researchers said their study suggested that influenza infection may increase the risk of fetal loss.
They reached their conclusion by analyzing Norway's well-kept archives of registries and medical records.
The risk of pregnancy loss can be multiplied by a factor of two if a pregnant woman catches the flu, while vaccination reduced this risk.
"Most important is that vaccinations protect pregnant women against influenza illness, which could be harmful for both the mother and the baby," said Allen Wilcox of the NIH, co-author of the study.
What do you think? Are you more likely to get the flu shot now?

Oh, so the vax connected to narcolepsy in Finnish children and is no longer allowed in that country? Okay....
And, they say it is safe in Norway? Which shot are they using? I know, most of the shots they allow in the US use ingredients banned by the EU from using in consumer products, so they would be illegal or in some cases criminal in some countries. I am still researching this. I have yet to come across an abstract or this study in full to read, so I am not holding my breath that injecting known carcinogens or mercury into my body is going to magically be good for me or my baby, just because it is in a vaccine!
Here is a list, from the CDC of all the vax's ingredients.

Here is the first ingredient in the first flu vax listed: beta-Propiolactone.

Here is the second ingredient in the same vax: thiomersal.

Here are current inserts to the different flu vaccines, for your consideration. Just hit Ctrl + F and type "pregnant" and it will take you to the segment on pregnancy. Most have it set up for people to report if there are adverse reactions in pregnancy, because they just don't know for sure if there are any.

We don't vaccinate at all, but I would never get a vaccine during pregnancy especially!
There is no flu vaccine on the market that is approved for use in pregnant women. Pregnancy is listed as a contraindication on ALL of them.
I'm very careful about what goes into my body on a regular basis, but even more so when pregnant and breastfeeding.

I trust the highly educated people (who have their doctorates) who don't want any legal issues and more familiar with their product, who put information to report adverse reations to VAERS in each package of their product, because they don't KNOW that this is safe for babies! And the CDC site, that lists the ingredients in the shots, so that I can make an informed decision.

The links were no opinion, they are factual: the ingredients from the CDC itself and the inserts from the pharmacitical companies themselves. If you are not interested in such facts, that is fine. I am sorry I infringed by offering such data to you. I wish you and your little ones all the very best. *tips hat* Have a great day, Ma'am! : )

I have done my research. But when it comes down to it, I am a firm believer in my doctor is a doctor for a reason. He went to school for all those years. I also work in a hospital. The doctor is not going to give me anything/do anything that is unsafe for me and my child. So when it comes down to it, its not me or my child that needs the 'Good Luck.' But thank you for your OPINION.
