Advice for Moms
Hi!
I try to teach my kids to treat all living creatures with respect, but when a spider or fly gets in the house I take out the fly swatter and...SPLAT! How do I explain that? What do you do when bugs get in your house?

Yes, I kill them and I explain that some bugs are pests and can take over the home or are dangerous to people and should be killed if they're inside. I don't kill anything outside, though, since that's where they belong. The kids have learned the distinction.
