Advice for Moms
Is 3 too soon for skates? I have a 3 year old little girl and her older cousin who is 5 got roller blades for xmas and she now wants some but idk is she old enough for them yet?

My daughter got toddler roller skates when she was 2. :)

Good question. I'd probably ask my pediatrician. You wouldn't want to put too much strain on their muscles and bones before they're ready.

THere are toddler / preschooler skates on the market. Just buy her age appropriate ones with a helmet and pads.

my daughter had fisher price rollerskates at that age. sure she hated them...lol..but she still had them! :)

I think if she can walk and run and keep her balance, then it is just fine, they make skates for that age.

It depends on her core strength.
The problem is being able to balance on your own.

My 3 year old wants to go ice skating. And they do make toddler roller skates and you can always get knee and elbow pads.
