Turning a Passion into a Career
October 5, 2012 at 12:10 AM

As the old saying goes, if you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life.

Of course, for many of us, our passions and interests don't always overlap with our professional lives. But it is possible to make the leap - as both Karen and her guest, jewelry designer Marla Aaron - have shown!

Marla even shares her secret weapon when it came to learning tricks of the trade - and it's something we ALL can use, for any type of job!

If you could turn one of YOUR passions into a career - what would it be?

I would make quilts and crafts.  I recently started quilting again and I really like the design aspect of it.  I wish I had more time to sew and have been considering setting a schedule to sew.  My biggest problem is the family pulling me in different directions when I want to be sewing but I realize if I want to do it I have to consider it a job as though I am going to work and i would not let the "play tIme" interfer with that and I don't let family wants( not needs) keep from going to work everyday so why should it keep me from my hobby/ second job?
