All the B vitamins are "feel good" vitamins. You can only get B12 from meat so vegetarians need to get it as a supplement. If you are taking certain medications, your stomach will not be able to process food properly so you can get deficient. However, MOST depression is caused by a low level of Vitamin D. As a I counsel all my clients, I suggest that they take a comprehensive approach to supplementation, take top quality supplements and then re- evaluate their symptoms. If they still have issues, then boost the appropriate vitamin (s) as needed. Most chronic diseases are nutritionally based and so they are easily corrected. Let me know if I can help you further.

I give myself B12 injections monthly. My body doesn't absorb it taking pills. In my mid 30s my body just decided one day it wasn't going to function normally. I had anemia peripheral nueropathy and B12 deficiency. They told me I would probably never walk again. Never say never cus by my birthday (4mnths later) I was walking with a cane and a year later gave birth to twin boys.

Have you had your levels tested? I have a b12 deficiency, so it does make me feel better. I don't know about depression, but it gives me more energy. The amount isn't as much as it seems because it is a supplement, so your body isn't going to absorb it the same.
If your just looking for a natural remedy for depression, I have had good luck with mynaturalmarket.com for natural remedies.
