This is a mix tape of 12 different versions of Dolly Parton's masterpiece "Jolene".

Jay Z made his own version. My mind was blown by that.

You're welcome.

I just realized at one point in time I was Jolene.

Those eyes are green and this hair is red. And I totally took a guy from another lady who begged me not too. I regret it. i wish I could track her down and apologize.

Well, I am assuming the inspiration for the story and not the actual Jolene since she was an 8 year old child. Sometimes we all do dumb things when we you're. The only way to improve is to eventually forgive ourselves or we will always be stuck in the past.

I think I like Rhonda Vincent's version best. Behind Dolly's of course.

I think it's ok to still enjoy the song :) I watched a special behind "I will always Love you" and I was fascinated by that story. How could her professional partner/mentor be mad at her for going out on her own after she wrote that song for him? She is a brilliant songwriter.

I think she holds the record for writing the songs that have been #1 hits in country music. Not singing/performing them herself, writing songs. And I saw that. Heartbreaking. I have loved Dolly since I was 5 years old.

I was totally head banging during that version.

When you can take a song and spread it across different genre's, it's a brilliant song. You can't do that with most songs.
