High School Yearbook app, is it safe?
May 15, 2013 at 3:06 PM

I just wanted to get some opinions from curious moms like myself on this new app for yearbooks called dyp-digital yearbook page. My daughters high school is one of the early adopters of the program. She loves it because she has control over her yearbook page and can upload more photos like her facebook pics. As a parent, should this technology make me feel uncomfortable? I hope kids don't take advantage of this and start bullying.

Here is an article about it: http://www.buzzfeed.com/dypme/your-yearbook-has-an-app-apf4

www.dyp.me is their website.

Thanks =)

P.S. I can't believe my daughter is a few weeks away from graduation!

    The technology is out there way beyond this ap. People can do this to you on the internet as well. Some might say you can avoid it by not uploading anything to the internet but that is not completely true. I am not sure bullying is the main concern with this sort of software.

    So you see it as more of a privacy concern?

    Yes, I see the possibility of stalker issues.

    It's as safe as anything else online (FB, linkedin, twitter, flickr, instagram, snapchat...)

    Makes Sense, I would not let my daughter use snapchat I have heard horror stories about that app but I agree with you =)
