When it comes to your child's personality do you think it's more nature or nurture?

I am the oldest of four girls and we couldn't be more different. My mom thinks it just nature of the beast. We are just born who we are...

I think it's a combination of both. My ds hasn't spent much time around his father but sometimes he is so much like him that it is scary.

Nature. They were different even as babies, before we could screw 'em up.

I feel it begins with nature. As they grow I feel nurture becomes the main factor.

It depends. My DD likes a lot of what my ex likes and he is not her bio father.... However she has a mix of mine and her biofathers attitude..... I'm already going nuts and she's only 5.

Assuming a non-extreme childhood (say, Paris Hilton's or homeless at age 5 in a major metropolitan area) I would say 75% nature, 25% nuture.  When childhoods begin to be extreme in terms of either trauma or privilege, nurture begins to have a more dramatic effect.

Both. But nature is VERY powerful.
