I can hardly believe that I just came home from our LAST meeting at high school for our son.  He has come such a long way and will graduate with his class on May 31.  He is also working part time at our local grocery store.

He is working with the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and will be attending the local community college.  He is going to try to get an associate's degree in chemistry (he does well in science, but struggles horribly in English).

    We are excited for him.

Congratulations. I am new to this group. My son is 16 & has aspergers. I am starting to panic about life after high school. He knows exactly what he wants to do. But, I worry if he will be able to do it, something in sports broadcasting - leaning towards radio broadcasting. It is very stressful.

Will your son received accommodations at the community college? Does he drive?

You give hope to those of us busting our butts to get our kids through school with a decent education.

Yes he drives, and so far, he has not wanted accommodations.
