I have about 250 because i needed my work email on my phone and it downloaded all the contacts from that address.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get all these people off without messing up everything else.

  Don't have a cell- they do make life easier but I feel that you lose something too. Don't need to add complications to an already noisy and less private world than before.

OMG!  Hundreds... litterally HUNDREDS.

This is a HUGE issue for me.  I have an IPhone 4 and when they set it up they set it up to capture ALL facebook contacts, email contacts, and any phone numbers that call in.  I can not figure out how to change this setting.  I have 3 kids in sports, 2 different PTAs, and a couple miscellaneous groups that email me; my phone captures all contacts in all group emails!  It is nuts!!!!!
