Are  you keeping on the lights or a little edgy when you are home alone because of a book you just read?  It must have been a good horror book.   Recommend it here!!

Let us know a little bit about the book, but don't spoil it.  :)

    The Remaining

Not sure if this goes here but its a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller and what the government has set up in case it happens. The main character is really great. He is in the military and has a mission to try to re-establish order in the event of a government collapse.

There are 3 more books in the series. HERE

Dr. Sleep by Stephen King, which is a sequel to The Shining.  I found The Shining to be scarier when I read it, but  was younger and lived alone.  The books follow the life of a boy has psychic abilities.  In Dr. Sleep, he helps fight against an evil group of paranormals.
