30/Punk/Goth/ different
Hello all! I'm glad I found this group! I'm 27 and a 1st time mother of a 1 year old punk rock baby boy. I'm a different mommy as well, I have piercings, black hair (as of right now, it changes with the season ;)), and about to get my 1st tattoo. My fiancee has a mohawk and pierced ears. We are proud to be punk rock/metal parents, and it gives me great joy when my son bounces and "baby sings" to music like The Offspring, Social Distortion, Bad Religion and even Rammstein :D However, it brings me down a bit when I have to take him to the doctors (who is in Nationwide Children's Hospital) and we get some of the dirtiest looks. I want to show the world that just because a parent looks different, doesn't mean they are bad parents, and most of all...I want to raise my son to know that just because ANYONE looks different, doesn't mean they are bad. We are creative people, my fiancee an artist and myself a writer and musician. When I play guitar, my son watches me so intently, I have a blue Ibanez Geo and I cried when I found a child size blue acoustic guitar at Once Upon A Child. It's in his room, and I plan to teach him as soon as he is old enough. Well, this was a little long, but I just wanted to let you all know why i joined. I look forward to reading your posts, and joining in on good conversations!
