So I am really thinking about getting a food dehydrator and was informed via a video that the food can last up to a year after that. I saw she had stuff stored like her apple chips in a ziploc bag. My questions are how would you package dehydrated food to maximize storage time and would you use oxygen absorbers with dehydrated food? Also what is the shelf life of fruits, veggies and meats?

I use mason jars with oxygen absorbers, got the best information from http://dehydrate2store.com/ . We just started last year and need to do more we are in the future going to get a food sealer and try to make packaged meals or starters. dehydrating is simple my son was 12 or 13 when we got ours and he was always making apple and bannana chips.
