I recently wrote a grant to get a new class pet. I was approved, and pet smart gave me $175 for the purchase of a pet snake and a starter kit. I ended up spending $80 for what would have easily cost me upwards of $200.

Her name is meadow, and she is a baby snow corn snake. She currently resides in my apartment, but will be relocated to my classroom after spring break.

My 4 year old is thrilled, and my 18 mo old is interested, too.

Dh is creeped out.

Good for you. . We had a ball python in a kindergarten class. The kids loved it and it sparked their interest in scientific observation and writing about what they learned.

That's great. When I was younger we loved having a pet snake.

Very cool. DS would love to stand and look at it but I don't think it would live very long once DH saw it lol

And speaking of pets at work, the VP's doggies should be here today which means I get a puppy at my desk :-)

ME! I won't garden any more because I accidentally picked up a baby snake when cleaning some brush in our backyard when we first moved in. Thinking about it just freaks me out.
