Welcome to Day 4 of the Quick & Easy Meals Challenge. Today we're taking a traditional meatball sandwich and turning it into a casserole to delight!
Meatball Sub Casserole
1 loaf of Italian (or French) bread, cut into one-inch thick slices
8 oz package cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. mayonaise
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 lb package frozen meatballs, thawed
28 oz jar pasta sauce
1 c. water
Arrange bread slices in a single layer in an ungreased 13"x9" baking pan; set aside.
In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise and seasonings; spread over bread slices. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese; set aside.
Gently mix together meatballs, spaghetti sauce and water; spoon over cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

I make a homemade sauce, but sometimes use jarred sauces. When I made this I used a sweet basil sauce that was really good.
I lovvvvve that much cheesy yumminess......and I use both frozen meatballs and jar.sauce all the time. Its much easier for me
