My ex was in the hospital for several months last year. His parents refused to siupervise visits after an arrangement we had for several months. You guys were right tghat they shouldnt come in his place because rights are not transferrable and i ended up telling them no i would not hand over the boys to them.

Well then dx contactedme after ten months saying he wanted the boys all weekend. I asked him why he was in the hospital and he lied and said depression. He is getting disability for being bipolar with schizophrenic tendencies. I went to my lawyer who is trying to get supervised visits and have him evaluated to see if the boys are safe when alone with him. Tomorrow and this friday are his visits and he is threatening to bring the police. I asked him to please wait until court and not cause a scene in front of the boys. He said "no i will be there with a police escort".

He hasn't really taken an interest in the boys for so long and even his parents would say "he has his own agenda".

I am scared for tomorrow and friday. Any advice is appreciated. Sorry so long.

I would talk to the police and see what can be done.

You can also get an emergency court date.

Until you get a court order he is legally able to take kids and police officer HAS to enforce a court order. Why couldn't your lawyer do an ex parte hearing to get in front of judge asap?

He said he would try to get it done before christmas but that it might take time. He said i should leave or not go to visitatiin spot but knowing my ex he will come to my apartment. The boys are getting over a cold and use public transportation.

Sounds like your only option may be to avoid being home when its time for him to pick up the kids. Maybe go visit family or a friend for awhile on that day. Even if he involves the police, they are not going to hunt you down

Also I would follow up with your lawyer and see what the status of your case is and let him know that your dilemma that you have right now and see what he says.  Good luck!!

Your lawyer should be able to get an emergency hearing before the judge if there is a safety concern for the children.  i work for an attorney and we have done this before.  Call your lawyer in the morning and see what can be done.  You can also call child services in your area and report your concerns.  They may be able to provid the supervision.
