We swore we'd be like Bruce and Demi post-divorce.
Worked it all out ourselves, had child support and visitation down. Stayed married on paper for insurance purposes...for about a year.
Then I get a knock on the door. He had lawyered up. Blah blah blah
Two years out now, and things just keep getting worse! Nothing material to fight over. He won't keep a visitation schedule. I get bitchy. I just want him out of my life. But in our kids' lives. :)
Is that too much to ask?
When and how does this get better?

I am sorry he is being d**k after 2 years. smdh. I have convinced myself that there is no such thing as an amicable divorce and so the interactions afterwards wont be either. The men a lot of times say that they dont want to involve lawyers and then go back on their word and get one. If I have to go through a divorce again, I am not going to be blindsided. -
Well, I'm HAPPY to report that things are much, much better.
Funny story--I actually emailed him my post and the response about how it will never get better until he keeps his visitation. Not sure if that opened his eyes, or his mother finally talked to him, but he got his act together and started keeping regular visitation.
These past few weeks, things have really turned around. We are getting along well and he's offered to help pick the kids up, etc.
Hope this keeps up, and hope your situation looks up too! Keep in touch. :)
