MommyOK
Birthday party for a 6 year old

My son is turning 6 in a few weeks so I decided to have his party at home this time around.  We're having a surprise "animal show" ( the person is bringing his own animals, it's all legit and everything is fine and he's great). Now if the weather is nice then everything is almost perfect -  we have a good size backyard and patio so the whole party and animal show can happen outside. If it rains then we have to take everything inside. We do have a big finished basement with a separate entrance and a bathroom and a kitchenette. I don't want any guests on the main floor (there are a lot of stairs and I don't want any kids running around and getting hurt).  Just not sure how to go about it. I don't want people to feel awkward either.

Am I just over thinking? How would you feel?

A baby gate?  That will get the message across without people going up & down stairs.

It was indoors. It was suppose to be outdoors but it was too cold that day. It was in April.

All the kids loved the animals.I have to admit, i think alot of the parents enjoyed it. I know i did.
