I just got the craziest look from my child.

 He walked into the kitchen and caught me putting salt on my watermelon.

 "Mom....STOP.That is NOT sugar!!Don't worry we can throw it away and get you some clean pieces." I just looked at him and laughed.I tried explaining that it was actually pretty good with salt but he wouldn't listen to anything I said-lol. (who could blame him apparently mom has gone insane-hehehe).He marches off mumbling-"Why would anyone WANT to eat SALTY watermelon?!"

    oh he will learn how salt makes watermelon sweeter one of these days.

     I have heard of that but,never tried it. I do however LOVE frest from the garden tomatoes sliced with a little sugar on them....soooo good!

    I have never heard of that before but I am so going to be trying this next time I have watermelon. :)

     I'm with your ds, "why would someone WANT to eat a SALTY watermelon"...I've tried it, do NOT believe it makes it sweeter..just salty.

    I also know people that salt apples, tried that...blech!

    Red pepper is good on fruit as well :) like cayane pepper.. or however you spell it lol
