I had a horrible pain in my stomach right bellow my rips and sharp horrible pain on the right side. I was in the hospital this weekend and they looked at me like I was nuts because even after all the pain and vomiting the tests showed no gallstones. I was convinced this is what it was because when they where doing the US they pressed on the right side where it hurt really bad and I asked what they where pressing on and sure enough it was my gallbladder! They sent me home with antibiotics because my white count was high.
I'm praying that my PCP can set up a dye test this week. Please keep your fingers crossed. I'm afraid to eat again (only ate bananas) because I'm afraid of it hurting super bad again. Also my pee is SUPER dark even though I've had nothing but water and gateraid. Its like I'm dehydrated but at the hospital they loaded me up with fluids through an IV. If its not my gallbladder then I hope they can say for sure its a fluke flu and I'm safe to eat again.
Here are my symptoms:
Horrible pain in my stomach, usually comes around 10 pm at night but this last friday was the worst lasted through out the day- Pain below my ribs center of stomach and on the right side.
Vomiting
Super dark urine (sorry tmi!)
Even though I may not show stones in my gallbladder I'm hoping that a dye test can say for sure that I have this so that I can cut it out and be done with it. I can't be sick like this ever again I thought I was dying :( They ran all these other blood tests and checked all my organs with the US. For sure its nothing with my kidneys, liver, or pancreas (sp?)
Keep your fingers crossed! I feel like I missed 3 days with DS being so sick and I can't do that again, I never want to be this sick again :(

My white blood was up so they put me on antibiotics (kidney or bladder infection?) but not much bacteria anywhere. I'm also not a big drinker just an occasional glass of wine so I can't imagine why they aren't functioning correctly. Waiting to hear back from insurance so I can get the stuff all set up.

Mmmmmmm interesting set of symptoms
Other than the pain, are your bowels working normally?
Dark urine would strongly suggest a kidney issue.
If it were me, I would want the gallbladder dye test, and specialist follow ups with a GI doc and a nephrologist (kidney doc).

Hopefully it's just an infection and the antibiotics will do the job!
One of the bloggers I read has been talking about her personal struggle to find a "diet" that is healthy for her and a group of plant chemicals called oxalites. Apparently, some people are hugely sensitive to oxalites and they can cause kidney problems along with a range of other symptoms. But I would think that kind of issue would develop slowly over a long period of time, not all at once.
