The CafeMom Newcomers Club
I'll be completely honest, I know NOTHING about technology anymore. Ask me about car seats and baby brands and I know them all, LOL. But ask me anything outside of "baby/toddler" world & I just seem to have a blank stare. I swear my 4 yr old programs things better than I do. I had to ask her to put the Netflix on for me on the PS the other day :/ (hangs head in shame). But I do want to get back on board w/ the rest of the world and want to get DD (4) a tablet or Ipad for xmas. Something w/ games (preferably learning ones) & it would be great if she could watch Netflix on it, although DH is buying me a Samsung Note for xmas so they'll be able to watch Netflix on that. I've seen the Leapster tab and the Vtech one, but Im not sure if these are good for her at this age or if I should just go all out and get her an IPAD? My only worry is I also have a 2 yr old, so I'm not trying to spend too much money on something that may end up being a coaster in a few months :/
If your young kids have an Ipad or tablet can you please let me know which one, if you'd recommend it and even some pros & cons?
Also, DH swares what I need is the Samsung Note, but if you have something you'd like to recommend, I'd really appreciate that too. I havent had a nice phone since my first child was born. I need something that I can use the internet on for things like making appts, using ebay to sell and shop, reading a book, etc etc (My youngest has a lot of Dr & therapy appts and rather than just sitting there for hours at a time, it would be nice to be able to get stuff done).
So please help me mommas... help me warp to 2012....

All I really know about iPads and little kids is they're supposedly great - the intuitive interface is apparently perfect for toddlers. There's a video online of a little girl trying to use a magazine but can't figure out how the pages work, but then they gave her an iPad and she was able to figure out how to open games and stuff. :) Also if you're worried about damage, there are things you can get to kid-proof them like this super shell thing.
