Bonus points if you know where it came from!
I *love* it, and the character (Elphaba) it came from.
It's a bit odd for a child though, that's why it's my fur kid's name and not my human kid's.
:) just being random!
What are some if the odd names you love or hate?

Most of the names I like aren't very usual. I picked my first sons name because the meaning of the names were special to us, so his is a bit more common, he is Aiden Konnor Ray. My second son is named after my Mom who died when I was 5, her name was Brenda Gail so he is Jagger Brennan Gage. Aiden has my initials, AB and Jagger has his Daddys, JB I love month/season/day of the week names like Winter, Wednesday, December, January, October. I like names that come from nature, Juniper, Sage, Willow, Dahlia, Rose, River, Violet, Jasper, Garnet etc. I have a HUGE list of names that come from or are inspired by my favorite characters in books or in history.

I don't know why so many people get so up in arms over Nevaeh, it's a freakin' name but I've seen people jump all over Moms for naming their babies that. I once saw a woman tell someone that her daughters name was a stripper name and that she would grow up to be a stripper because of it. As a former dancer I have never met any dancer that used their ACTUAL given name as a stage name, that's dangerous. Aside from that the woman who told this Mother this had a daughter named Heaven Leigh, which is the name of an actual porn actress. So what the fuck? lol

I lost my baby girl, Heaven Grace before she was born. If I ever have another daughter her name will be Eleanor Nevaeh, and I know people think its a dumb name. But, honors my daughter and is the same initials as my late mom and late grandma. So, it's the perfect name.
But I realize everyone else hates it.
Nature spelled backwards is Erutan. (Air-u-tan).
I like that too! -
I'm not "up in arms" over the name; the reason I don't like it is for a few reason's:
1. not a unique nor traditional name, just like some odd spelling of a common name
2. yep, sounds like a stripper name. I admit it.
I have other gripes about it, but not really worth typing.
sorry, more traditional name kinda Mom here (Brandon & Melissa)

I am so sorry for your loss. I think both of those names are lovely and I think it would be a wonderful name should you have another daughter. I am sure she would be proud to have a name that honors her big sister and have the same initials as your Mama and Gran. I don't know why people are so hostile about the name Nevaeh, there are names I don't like or that aren't my style but I would never shit talk them or put someone down for using them the way I have seen some do with that particular name. I think it's pretty, myself, and I like the possibility of the nicknames that you could use with it.

I wasn't refering to you or what you said about the name, I would have replied to you if I was. When I read your comment it just made me remember the eleventy thousand posts I've seen all over the internet with people straight going off on Moms of kids with that name.
