My 2 year old woke with a 103.4 degree fever and a slight cough. I got him in to be seen. He tested negative for strep, influenza and ear infection. The doctor said his cough sounded thick and his high fever were cause for concern. He wrote out a form and sent us over to the hospital to have blood work done and a chest xray. He said if there's anything abnormal on the xray or bloodwork he is going to admits him for iv antibotics. This is not how I saw my day playing out. I have to pick my son up from school at 1pm to take him to his appointment at 2 with the behavioral specialist 40 minutes away. I called Dh to let him know and all he said was let me know. He didn't offer to take off of work early to help me, didn't sound concerned for either of his children nor ask me how I am doing. What a butt!
Update:
The xrays showed he does have pneumonia coupled with bronchitis. He gave him a shot of antibotics in his leg which they said will make his leg sore for a few days. He cried and still won't walk on his leg. Also sent us home on two different meds and recommended using his brother's neb. Said if there is any chance head straight to the er. Also managed to make it to my 5 year old son's appointment. She thinks adhd after speaking with my son, reading over his iep and the schools report. She is sending us to criter for a full evaluation and to get started with some services. She seemed quiet concerned and didn't want us to wait. I don't know what to think right now. I am in over load mode. *sighs*
