Fruit & Vegetable Gardening
Hi I'm Emily I have 3 boys and a husband. We started our garden a bit late and the kids decided to grow pumpkins. They are growing wonderfuly but they are yellow. Will they turn orange at all? The biggest is the size of a basketball and the other isn't much smaller. They sound very hallow when tapped on I just hope they are ready for halloween.

If you click on blue bar above...."other forums", there is a specific "autumn/fall gardening section, that may be of interest.

Thank you there was alot of information there but didn't really give me an answer. I've tried to google my question but haven't found any answers that way either.

Its supposed to be a giant pumpkin. My kids got a veggi tales pumpkin kit. And from the info I've read a mixta pumpkin starts yellow and then turns orange.

Pumpkins are green until they turn orange...they're never yellow unless they are a squash. Do you know what variety they are? -
Thank you that was helpful. I started about a month late according to that site and giant pumpkins start yellow apparently.
Quoting opinionatedmom:
growing time is 100 to 120 days they should be about ready. check this site out.
