Kinder Kids: Bath or Shower
January 24, 2013 at 10:27 AM
Do most 5 & 6yo kids bathe or take showers? My just turned 6yo DD hates showers, in part because she hates water in the eyes. But I'm sick of giving her baths. What age is normal to transition to showers?

Both of my boys were taking showers by that age.  A simple solution for water in the eyes is swim goggles.

Both of my girls are taking showers and they started a few months ago.  They are 4 1/2 and almost 7.  They get in every day and we wash their day every other day.

Let her bathe herself and just help with hair.  That is what we have been doing.  DD hates showers as well. We started when she was in kinder last year having her learn the skill of bathing herself.

My sd4 takes a shower she has at home for the past 11 mo. I just help with rinsing her hair. At her moms she is forced to take a bath. She doesn't like them.

Since my boys started showering alone they do showers during the week, and baths on the weekends. They like baths better, but a bath everyday is too much IMO.
