That's hilarious. I get sarcastic with him. He will ask "can I use this toothbrush to brush my teeth" (dont' ask, he's got like 1000000 toothbrushes LOL). And i say 'no, of course not, why would you use that toothbrush".....and he looks at me like I killed a kitten.

Every night dd & I tease each other. I tuck her in& tell her "I love you......sour dreams". Lol she'll yell HEY. I then tell her oops I meant sweet dreams. It's silly, but she expects it. -

When asked what we're having for dinner, I'll answer, "Food."
"What food?"
"Edible food."
"What edible food?"
"Edible food we like."
That's about the point we get a very exasperated growly, grunty, sigh : )

I might have to try this. lol For whatever reason, I get annoyed with the "what's for dinner" question. Having a funny response (funny to me anyway) might help.
