The School Nurse Charges Me
September 3, 2012 at 2:22 PM

I was just wondering if any of your schools charge you as well if your child makes a visit. Luckily, our insurance will pay any of the cost BUT I know some people don't have the same insurance. I think a basic "kid gets hurt and needs to be treated aka ice and such" is about $220. I just don't get it. When did we start charging for nurse visits in public school? My kids are on strick rules to NOT go if at all possible!

No, they don't do that here. Their salary is covered by the school district, and services are not charged.

I have honestly never heard of this.  If I was you, I'd call the school district and ask if this is the policy.  If not, you need to stop his/her game in it's tracks!
