In Need of Some Real Good Xmas Recipes!!

So this year for Xmas I want to get into the baking spirit, but im in need of some real good baking recipes for cookies, bars, anything!! Anyone have any good recipes PLZ share :)

     I haven't really gotten into the Christmas specific recipes yet but I probably will soon since my kids are getting older. You may also want to ask in some of the food groups!

    go buy the Betty Crocker Cookie book, it might be online also.  the book that I have is over 40 years old, but I've heard they still have the same recipes.

     This is one of our staples now. In addition to putting the peppermint on top at the end, I also sprinkle very lightly some green sugar - it makes it more festive :

    Holiday Peppermint Bark

    Ingredients

    1 (12 ounce) packageNESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Morsels

    24hard peppermint candies

    Directions

    1. LINE baking sheet with waxed paper.
    2. MICROWAVE morsels in medium, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70 percent) power for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
    3. PLACE peppermint candies in heavy-duty plastic bag. Crush candies using rolling pin or other heavy object. While holding strainer over melted morsels, pour crushed candy into strainer. Shake to release all small candy pieces; reserve larger candy pieces. Stir morsel-peppermint mixture.
    4. SPREAD mixture to desired thickness on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with reserved candy pieces; press in lightly. Let stand for about 1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

    Yields 1 pound

    Every Christmas I make caramel. It's easier than you think. I also make sugar cookies, snowball cookies, shortbread, and apple butter. This year I am adding peanut brittle and pralined pecans. I highly recommend pinterest and melskitchencafe. Awesome resources.

    I made this for thanksgiving and it was so good....also terribly unhealthy, but I figure once or twice a year is okay....

    I made these last year for a cookie contest and won prettiest cookies. These are super yummy and really easy to make. I used dumdum suckers instead of lifesavers.
