DS not Nursing as much. What to do for painful breasts?
March 24, 2013 at 6:24 PM

DS will be 3 years old on April 9th. He doesnt nurse more like its a snack to him lol. He breastfeeds when i put him down to sleep at night and then he sleeps the whole night until he wakes up in the AM and wants to BF again for a long while. which is good because my breasts get hard and it hurts, especially my left one. During the whole day he doesnt want any unless he asks in the evening while watching tv with me. Im also pregnant with my 4th. Im due Oct 23rd. If i offer he doesnt want any. Do i just keep doing what i am doing ?

Pretty much. Ice packs and/or cabbage leaves in the bra can provide relief when it hurts.

It might be due to the pregnancy hormones. Your milk might dry up soon. He might continue to want to nurse and he might decide to be done when that happens.

I thought about that too that the milk is drying up but milk still comes out.

It doesn't always dry up completely. Some moms still have some milk until it changes back to colostrum.
