Pregnant while EBF

Did you get pregnant while exclusively breastfeeding? DD is almost 3months old, ebf, and dh just told me he wants us to have another baby now instead of waiting a couple years. The next baby would be our 3rd and last. I didnt get pregnant with #2 until #1 was completely weened. So Im just curious how common or rare it is to get pregnant while exclusively breastfeeding.

My baby was between 8-9 months when I conceived, and she didn't solids until exactly 9 months.

Pregnancy can (&will very likely) lower milk supply & cause a nursing aversion so if your goal is to not have to supplement then I would wait to TTC.

Thank you for the information. For me and my family having another baby is more important than how long I would be able to breastfeed (of course I will bf as long as possible) but I personally view even 1day of breastfeeding is better than not at all, so I wont have any regrets whenever I stop bf'ing my dd.

With my first i think what started my cycle was my son got the stomach flu when he was 10 months and was on ivs and couldnt nurse. I got pregnant right after that.

My third pregnancy happened when my first chold weaned, my second child was 5-6 months and ebfed, but that ended in a miscarriage, however my cycle remained until i got pregnant again with my third (4th pregnanxy).

I concieved agaib when my third was nursing and eatinf solids, miscarried and am now pregnant again, still nursing number 3, who is 28 months and im 10 1/2 weeks pregnant.

I suggest waiting until baby is atleast 12 months before you ttc.

Even if it's not breastfeeding related I think you should wait this long because it's my understanding that it takes that long for your body to replenish the nutrients lost from pregnancy. Am I off base here?

I personally would give my body a break if I were in your shoes. Seems like you're short changing your second because you don't want to wait a few months. :/

And I nursed during pregnancy, but not exclusively. Baby was 1, so he had solids as well.

I got pregnant with dd2 when dd1 was 14 months, she was still pretty much EBF with only just a few solids and we still co slept/baby wore/skin to skin. And we were using condoms but well one broke.

Then I got pregnant with ds when dd2 was around 18 months when I got prengnant with their brother, and it was the same there too.

I agree. It is healthier for you to wait and let your body fully recover.
