Breastfeeding Moms
I was scrolling on craigslist for baby items and I came across an add selling breast milk. I have a friend that donates and has said that some people try to sell it, but its ILLEGAL. I am outraged. I understand that people are short on money these days however....
Who do I report this too?

What state do u live in?
I live in AZ. It is not illegal to sell breastmilk here. It is only illegal to sell in certain states. If it is illegal in ur state, I would email her and alert her to that. Let her know that maybe she would want to donate, as that's NOT illegal anywhere and there are tons of mothers who need donated BM. :D

It is illegal in only new york and california.

I would just send her a message letting her know, its illegal. She can however ask to be compensated for things like storage bottles or bags. -

I'm always surprised to hear people will pay for breastmilk with the donation sites around, like Eats for Feets. :-/ -

Ok, I sent a nice email, letting her know in this state it IS illegal to sell and gave her the names of some places she could donate :)

Sure. Most moms who donate do it from the goodness of their hearts, because they realize how good it is for their babies and want to spread the goodness to other babies whose moms can't breastfeed. I just can't imagine making a business of it.
