Breastfeeding Moms
I've had 3 clogged ducts in the last 2 weeks, one led to mastitis. Now this morning I woke up in pain again on my left side. Tonight as I was feeding I noticed "scab" type thing.. and some itching in the location of the pain.. here is a pic... WHAT IS THIS!!!!?????
its located on the outer part of my left breast...

Mastitis can have surface redness and swelling too. My mom had something like that when she got it. Call the dr. -
I've had mastitis a lot, but never anything that looks like this. :(

I would call the doc, Im not sure! Ive had the lumps but they never turned into mastitis!

this looks like a skin infection to me. Possibly even an irritation or season related change -

I'm sorry! My husband brought that home with him when he came home from Iraq. It was horrible to get rid of. Make sure you GLOB the meds on it and cover it so it doesn't spread. You can transfer it so make sure you put the cream on baby and other family members if you see anything that resembles it and change the sheets almost daily! It's a PIA to get rid of!!!

When my son had ringworm, lotrimin ultra got rid of it quickly.
For the recurrent plugged ducts, look into lecithin supplements to hello.
