Since we keep getting the same questions, here are some "standard" answers.
EDITED TO ADD:
Two online resources to look up hyour medical questions:
1. Can I drink and nurse?
YES! Generations of European women will attest to it.
2. I'm sick! Can I nurse?
YES! In fact, it's better for baby if you nurse through an illness. Baby gets your antibodies.
3. I have a cold. Can I take anything?
YES! Lots of safe remedies for colds and flu.
4. My baby is sick. Should I keep nursing?
YES! Breastmilk is the best thing for baby, both in the tummy and...surprise surprise...in the nose! A couple of drops of breastmilk can be used like saline spray to clear baby up.
5. Can I take dietary supplements?
Most likely YES. Loook up the supplement on kellymom.com. If it's merely vitamins and minerals (calcium, magnesium are minerals, for example), those are already in your prenartals and your body will flush out the excess in urine.
Dietary supplements to lose weight? Don't bother. They'll only reduce your wallet.
6. Can I nurse with a hangover?
YES. You may not WANT to, but you can. Just stay away from the hair of the dog hangover cure.
