Ladies in the back of this book is a set of questions for each chapter so I am going to use for our discussion about the book. I am at tell you which chapter the book use to , so if you still have the book , you can look back at it if need to.

The first question is a general question so it has no chapter to look back on.

What one word would you use to summarize your emotions regarding the return of Christ?  Joy

                                                                 Chapter One
Max outlines three truths that Jesus gave to keep us from being troubles.
I have ample space for you
I have a prepared place for you
                                                              I 'm not kidding
What 's important about each of these three truth? How can they help to keep us from bring troubled The all show a loving God who knows hie children . If he has prepared a place for us , he knows that what our desires our and how many rooms to fix. I have prepare a place for you say he has prepare a special place for us base on our desires and needs. I'm not kidding say he is telling the true.  They give us hope to what heavens holds.
Which of these truths is most significant to you personally? I have prepared a place for you it brings to mind a mom preparing for the homecoming of her son with the same love and attention to detail.

                                                           Chapter two

Max writes that scripture characterizes Abraham as trusting,

Moses as leading, Paul as writing, John as loving and Simeon as looking.? I thing some of these are things all of us as Christian should be doing/ Like trusting we are to trust the Lord. Loving we are to love the Lord and our follow man, looking we are to be looking for his return. But some of thses are ways to be use of God that some of us may be gifted in this area and some may not . But we are to use the gifts we do have.

                                                          Chapter Three

Max mentions three alternatives to the idea that Christ rose from the grave:
Jesus never actually dead , he simply fainted on the cross
Jesus discipline stole his body from the tomb
Jews stole Jesus body from the tomb
How would you respond to each of these alternative theories?  What is the problem does each have

The idea that Jesus did not actually dead does not take in to account that he lose all his blood when the solider Peirce his side.  Of course I would point this out.

The idea that the disciplines stole the body is so crazy how would they have over power the soldiers at the tomb and must important they would not behave be willing to dead for a lie . They all dead cruel dead except may John who was put on a island by himself.

The idea that the Jews stole his body makes no sense it would have in power the very believe they want to kill.

                                                            Chapter four

Can you remember the first time dead force you to say goodbye   I do it was when I was 13 and Jerry Fisher and a friend was riding a motorcycle and a dunk driver hit them. They put dead when they hit the ground after be toss of the bike.  I was so hurt when my parents refuse to allow me to go to the service they felt I was too young to be there. I hat the biggest crush on Jerry.  I am so glad that I will see him some day again.

                                                                Chapter five

Max offers two complementary truths to end the chapter (1) Your body , in some from will last forever. Respect it (2) Your pain will NOT last forever Believe it.  How do you respect your body? How do you disrespect your body. I think we respect it by taking care of it exercising it , groom it, eating right , keep it pure by having sex inside of the marriage relationship and not out.  We disrespect it by smoking , drinking , driving while drunk or too fast  this along  this line.

                                                                Chapter Six

" I had made it all the way to the door but was denied entrance ( 1) Why was Max denied entrance to the locker room at Augusta National Country Club  He do not have the right papers to be allow in
(2) How do you think Max felt when he was denied entrance ? he was hurt and sad because he though he was going to be allow in with his heroes. (3) How would you have felt ?  I think I would have felt the same.

                                                                   Chapter Seven
Describe a dream you have as a younger person . Did he come true ? and if it did was it as cool as you know it would be.  I always dream of being a buyer for a large fashion store and going to a Paris fashion show and buying the newest fashion my clients would love. The closest I ever get was being a assistant manger of a fashion store.

                                                                    Chapter Eight

Schindler saw the faces of the delivered ; you will too Schindler heard the gratitude of the redeemed; You'll hear the same . He stood in a community of reassured souls; the same is reserved for you.
Would it have been difficult to do what Schindler did  Explain  Yes it was hard for him to do , he put his life and the people lives he love in great harm way. But he do so because it know it was the right then to do and never did it for a pat on the floor.
What is difficult about trying to live a Godly life here on earth? Explain It hard to always try to do the right then know it will make you stick out from the rest . There is temptation where we live every day but God will give us a way out of the temptation if we ask.
How can focusing on others help to keep us moving forward  We never want to be a roadblock in some ones ways but the way we act or talk.

                                                                  Chapter Nine

How does God win in the end? How do you encourage yourself to think about this ultimate dive victory God wins by over coming evil and tossing the devil in the lake of fire that will burn for ever.  When this get bad we know who wins in the end and we know God is with us so we can go on.

                                                              Chapter Ten

Are you ready for the day of Judgement? Explain   Yes I pray when I was young the sinner prayer and believe with all my heart what Jesus said

                                                            Chapter Elven

People do not go to hell . Sinners do . The rebellious do . The self- centered do. How could a loving God send people to hell ? He does not , he simply honors the choice of sinners.
What do you think of Max teaching above. Do you agree with him. Explain.  Yes I total believe the truth of the Bible and agree we make the choice of where to go by our choose here on earth. People know the gospel massage and if they refuse to love God , how would a loving God make them stay with him for eternally.
If you have ever told a non Christian something like this , what was they reaction ? What happened? Not that I can remember.

                                                          Chapter twelve

The human tongue is adequate to describe Christ. So in a breathless effort to tell us what he saw John gives us symbols.
Why is the tongue inadequate to describe Christ/  He is so wonderful and loving that it is beyond words.
If you had to suggest some other symbols to describe Christ what symbols might you choose? Describe and explain them.   I think I might liken him to a space ship because it is one of the most powerful things we as human being understand and God is so powerful.

                                                             Chapter thirteen

You might ask " Why hasn't he come? There is only one answer his bride is not ready. She is still being prepared."
How do you think the church is still being prepared for Christ?  I think there are more people our love ones we have be praying for that God is waiting to join the church. He is also trying to get one solid body together so we are not break down between things like demotions, race, social status etc.
IN What ways is Christ preparing you for his return?  He is teaching me more about trust.

Ladies please join in the discussion for all or as many questions as you want. If you want to commit about anything else please do so!

I read the book. I don't want to answer all the questions, but I will some.

Chapt. 1 shows that there is room for all who believe, not a certain # like some false teachers preach.

Chapt. 2 You've summarized already. Love the Lord you God w/ all your heart, w/ all your soul and w/ all your mind. Put God first. Trust in the Lord. We do have gifts that need to be used. For example, Doctors and such are place here w/ the knowlege they have been gifted to receive to help us w/ earthly trouble. Putting our trust in God and trusting the Dr. to be his instrument for healing is good. Yes, prayer can heal, but so can medicine which God provides. I think it's foolish to ignore human medicine and refuse medical treatment, because it is supposedly "God's will for me to live or die." C'mon, get the appendix out if it's inflamed. I love the example about the guy in the water ignoring boats to help him, b/c God was going to do it.

Chpt 3. We know Christ's body died. The spear in the side proved it. We know that the disciples didn't steal the body, b/c the soldiers were guarding the tomb w/ their lives + many others saw Jesus alive before his ascention into Heaven. Jews wouldn't have stolen the body for the same reasons.

Finally, if we believe that the Bible is true, that's it. 2Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed. John 17:17 Your word is Truth

gotta go, will do more later

I total agree God wants us to use doctors or they would not have the knowledge they have.

I am so glad you felt free to ask just the question you want to that is how I want everyone to feel and I love hearing your take on the book.

I read this book several years ago.  One thing that struck with me is how will we feel about our sins when in heaven.  The Bible tells us there will be no tears in heaven but at the judgement seat when all our sins are laid out how will we respond especially after seeing God's glory and holiness?  I remember he wrote that we won't be overcome by tears, shame and remorse rather we will be overwhelmed by the God's grace and forgiveness.

I got my copy from and inter-library loan. It only took a couple days to get to my library.

Christ's righteousness and holiness becomes ours. His sinless life is credited to us. We can wrap ourselves in His robe of righteousness and be declared not-guilty or any sins the accuser(devil) would throw at us. Jesus is like our DA and also took on himself our punishment.

Chapter 4 ? My brother was on his bike and was hit/killed by a car when we were kids. He was just 13 and I was 9. The funeral was a good thing for us to have closer. We mourned, and cried, and then could rejoice in knowing that Mark was in Heaven already. How great for him! (We didn't feel really full of rejoicing right then b/c we're human and feel the sudden loss, but we did have that comfort.
