I mod podge a picture on a piece of tile from home depot.  The put felt on the back.

Yep this tutorial is GREAT!  I just made 4 sets last week using this.

I just made three sets using that tutorial also.

For those of you that have done this, did you have a problem with the ink  kind of like splattering? If i didn't get the tissue paper taped just right (tight as I could get it) then it would leave splotches of ink on the pictures. This was the hardest part I thought.

My mom made some for her home one year, we bought the round circle cork coasters, put my kids pictures on them, but we sealed the cork before adding the pictures. we used the clear sealer first ading several coats 3-4 and then let dry and then added our pictures. using decoupage. and again used clear sealer and used the laminate liquid to cover and they turned out great. the whole cork coaster needs tobe covered front to back and edges to keep the ink and other stuff from seeping through or getting blotchy. hope this helps.
