I have 2 kids and i have irregular bleeding and my period will stay up to 7 days and then after few days i will spoting blood again . I went to check up with my OB and she told me that i have a Cyst on the right ovary and fiibroid too.She told me about Mirena will help the bleeding .But i am so scared as i gained alot of weight already and i don't want to take birth control pills.So is it true that Mirena will stop the bleeding with no cramps ,or gaining weight, and my sex life will be the same with my husband . Please help me as it will never cure anything it's just will stop the period .Thanks again everyone

I have PCOS and break through bleeding every month while I was on oral bcp. I had the mirena inserted 6/28/2012 and spotted for 48 hours. I love mine, so far i havent had any weight gain and just started my first cycle since having the mirena inserted. HTH
