Apple Tree Day January 6th, 2013

Although we're in the midst of a frosty winter month and apple trees aren't doing much of anything right now, today we honor them anyway for the bounty they bring us each fall. In ancient Greece the apple was considered to be a symbol of Aphrodite and to throw an apple at someone meant to declare ones love. So when the ground thaws, consider planting an apple tree in your back yard. Come autumn you'll have plenty of ammo to lob at your family to show just how much you care.
