How do I prepare my child..

I have to go into the hospital for a 5 day stay to figure out why I am seizing. How do I prepare my son for me being gone and the changes in his routine? The doctor is trying to schedule this for October so he will be in school during the whole time I am gone. Aiden is such a routine child, any changes upset him. I had to tell him 4 times this afternoon that we had to go to the store tonight and yes we would get supper while out. Please help me figure out how to help him, thanks.
