I saw a cop using food stamps

I was at the grocery store today, and I saw a police officer using food stamps. (He was not in uniform, but I know he is a cop).

How is it, that someone that risks his/her life everyday at their job paid so poorly that they qualify for food stamps? There is something seriously wrong with that.

I cant figure it out myself.  I know many service members have to use financial help as well like food stamps and other state aids.

Arent there military families that qualify for FS? I know when my mom was growing up, they were on WIC and my grandfather was active duty airforce. They traveled alot.

You would think we could take a bit away from our senators, congressmen, just politicians in general, and give more to military and police (and fire).

Maybe. Even still. He should be paid better than that.
