Is this a Jewish stereotype?

I was talking to my (Jewish) therapist about how greedy family members descended like vultures when my grandmother died. He mentioned that, coming from a Jewish family, he knew what that was like. Is being greedy vultures after death a common Jewish stereotype?

Yes, it's a stereotype. One he should be ashamed of perpetuating, BTW.

Every Jew I've ever known was greedy, money hungry, and cheap.

Jews being greedy is a stereotype.

However, I will say my husband is Jewish and I have never seen more respectful and humble funerals and mourning periods.

I would say the Christian family I grew up in would put ravenous vultures to shame.

So its yet another stereotype that is untrue.
