If jobs are so "scarce" then....

How did my 16 and 17 yr old get jobs so easily? They may not be the greatest and not that many hours but they are good in the mean time for people who are looking for jobs. People are being too picky because welfare makes it too easy.

i agree. i'm a senior in college and throughout my time here, i've heard many of my peers say they wouldn't work in fast-food restaurants but are BROKE AS HELL eating ramen noodles every night. pride issues. get what you can take until you have something (a degree, a skill) to get something better.

    Are you kidding with this.

Do you really think a minimum wage job can support a family?

You know not everyone lives where you are right? Some places have it worse. Ask someone in Detroit.

Summer jobs for teens are easier to find and get. Not that hard to figure out. I have been turned down for jobs with the reason given ... I wanted to know why so I asked ... so that a teen could have a summer job. Cheap labor. No benefits required.

Not true!! They have no experience and are teens just what jobs WANT so they don't have to pay an ADULT more or have to deal with "family" issues. Like 1 or more child doctor appointments or school events!!!

I have to agree that it has a lot to do with where you live. I live in a small town and my neighbor's 17 year old is having one heck of a time finding a job. And it is NOT for a lack of trying. He has put in applications everywhere.
