I call my MIL Mrs. Stephanie (her first name) and my FIL Mr. Michael.
My DH calls my parents Mrs. Lisa and Mr. Tommy.
I find it really strange when people call their MIL by just their first name. I was raised to call someone older than me Mr. or Mrs. until they tell me not to use Mr. or Mrs.
Are you the same way, or more casual with using just their first name or a nickname?
I call my mother inlaw MOMMY, MA, MOM, MOTHER, OLD LADY, AND KIMMIE (her name is kim) and usually when i call her Kimmie (being playful) she scolds me and makes me go back to calling her mom lol.
My real mom and I practically hate eachother. My MIL is my bestfriend..and sometimes i swear she loves me more than her son lol jk
I just call mine Betty...that's her name.
I call her mom
I call her by her first name. I would not be comfortable with Mom (too familiar) or Mrs. -- (too formal). My husband calls my parents by their first names as well.
Are you from the south?
