Appropriate Age to Stop Breastfeeding?
by Anonymous
June 19, 2013 at 2:14 AM

In your own opinions, what age is too old?  When does it become, well...creepy?

My opinion: Before the child KNOWS he is sucking a BOOB. My 3.5 year old knows what a boob is, so I'm going to guess 3 years old.

How about you guys?  What do you think?

I have no idea. Mine is 1 year old today and it wouldn't be weird for me to bf her. I don't know what children are like at 2,3,4 years old so I don't know if it would be uncomfortable to me or not. I am for self weaning though so I really have no clue

Whenever the kid wants to stop. I highly doubt any kids in school want breastmilk unless they are curious about the taste.

Whenever the mother and child deem it so. Nobody else's opinion matters.

What's wrong with knowing the name for the body part? I breastfed until 4.5 and my dd knew it was a boob since she could talk.

I'd stop after 5. But whenever mom and baby are ready.
