When do I switch?

DD to the high back belt booster? She is 4 1/2 and 35 lbs. People keep asking me why I haven't yet, frankly I didn't know it was time? Lol


ETA: no one seems to be reading what I wrote. I said HIGH back booster NOT backless booster.

    It is safest to keep her harnessed as long as possible

    The minimum is 4 and 40lbs, so you still have a while. My youngest will be 4 in october and is 42lbs and 42 inches tall and will be in a 5 point harness probably another 6 months to a year. Her seat goes to 65lbs.

    At least 40lbs but keeping her in the harness as long as possible is safest. My eight year old is just about to outgrow the harness.

    Too early to safely switch.

    She needs to be at least 40 lbs to safely switch. She meets the minimum age requirement, but closer to 6 is more "ideal" anyway, so the extra weight gain will get you to a more "ideal" booster range anyway. :)

    That's for the backless booster. The minimum for the high back is 30 lbs.

    4yrs and 40lbs is the bare minimum for safely riding in a booster. Most children aren't mature enough until closer to 5 or 6.

    My son is 4 & still in a regular car seat too. He's pretty big, but I still feel nervous switching.

    4 and 40 applies to any booster using the vehicle seat belt.
