Geez, I supose if you had your kid exercise and not eat crap all day and night, the dr. says she is over weight and you dont believe him, great parenting of the year!

I know a lady this pertains to, she is in denial over her kids weight...sad for the girl. She is just getting bigger and bigger, and her mom dosnt seem to care.

EDIT to add- She is 4' 8 or 9

I would say unless the child is really tall, 120lbs at 10 yrs old is really alot. My son is 5'1,  12 years old and weighs exactly 100.   He's very healthy. It really depends on the height of the child.

    I was 120 @ 11. I wasn't huge just chubby and lost a bunch as a teenager, went down to 106.

My brother was almost 6' tall at 10, so 120 would have been under weight. But I think it depends on the height of the child. It is hard to go by just weight.

I was 5'2 when I was 11 and 116. I wasn't fat then at all. Depends on the kid, but if the doc is concerned, she should take advice or get another opinion or something.

I know one ten year old that probably weighs about that but she's ridiculously tall, even her eight year old sister is as tall as me.

    I don't care.

She's a crappy parent and the kid is going to pay for it.  Happens all the time.

How tall is the child? My son will be 12 next month and he weighs about 120, but he has a lot of muscle mass on him.

It really depends on her height more than her age.  My 12 year old son weighs 110 lbs and is not even close to being overweight.  Then again he is 5'3".

You also have to remember that as puberty starts, kids tend to bulk up prior to getting taller.
