I had surgery Friday to remove a cyst from my big toe. I am not to remove the gauze until the dr does it tomorrow. The pain is getting worse. It's swelling more too. I was prescribed hydrocodon and it doesn't work for the pain. I'm just wondering if the pain and swelling should be increasing? Shouldn't it be getting better?

If it's getting worse it might be infected. I'd call the doctor's office. -
Well its only been a few days, yes the swelling gets worse at first, but it could also be a sign of infection.

I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon. I was just hoping someone had an answer. I am sick of this pain.

I had surgery on Thursday for a hernia, the swelling is normal most times just ice it. My pain was the worst the first 2 days but now it's just kind of an annoying throb. Take it easy til you see your doc tomorrow.
