S/O...do yout parents or in-laws babysit?

Not do you "expect" them to, do they want to?

My mom definitely doesn't. She's really busy, but mostly, she just doesn't like her routine interupted. My in-laws offer, but not on a regular basis. I'm always sort of jealous of people that have family that has no problem watching their kids. Like my bff, her mom watches her ds all summer vacation, snow days, when she wants to go out, etc, no questions asked. I don't particularly need a babysitter so I can party, but the idea of having mil watch dd while I work seems much nicer than daycare (which is why I'm a sahm). I don't blame anyone, they're my kids, I just wonder what it's like to have parents that literally don't mind at all.

Yes. My dad loves to watch the kids for me. If we lived near our in-laws they would watch them in a heartbeat too. My Aunt takes them 2 weeks every summer and as many holidays as we can spare them. LOL.

My mom isn't in the picture any more, but she lived with us for a while and would babysit for short amounts of time. We didn't really trust her.
My MIL watches my DD for free all day on T/Th. It was 5 days a week when she was little. She also babysits if we need her to- even overnight. We try not to take advantage though. She is a SAHM (her youngest just went to college) so she has a lot of free time.

yea my mom and step dad do. they are also really busy but they enjoy the time with ds. he's the only grandchild and will be unless i have more since i am an only child. my stepdad has fridays off during the winter so a few times a month he takes ds for a few hours on fridays so they can have some "boy time" and so mama can have a minute to herself lol im blessed to have such an awesome mom and stepdad. especially since they are the only ones i trust to watch ds.

i cant stand the people that just drop their kids off on the weekends and go out and party all the time. yes here and there is fine but every weekend is not necessary. these years are precious and with how busy we all are, we need to take advantage of all the time we can get with them until they grow up and would rather die then spend time with their parents on the weekend lol

My parents would, but they're nearly 1000 miles away.

My MIL cannot even if she wanted to.  Dementia.

No, but it because I am 100 miles away from family. But even if we were in town, she is a busy lady -  she still works full times, goes on cruises and go to plays. So we would still have to schedule time way in advance, because the last thing she is doing is waiting around to watch my kids. (Not to say she doesn't adore them and doesn't let more than a month go by with out coming to visit)

No one does. It would be nice if someone, just one person would so I can get a break but no, that will never happen. I don't even remember the last time me and my Husband had a date night.

My parents live 400 miles away, and my in-laws are 800 miles away. My parents have kept our kids for weeks at a time while we went on vacation, though. A couple of times they drove the 9 hours to come to our house to do it.
