Mom Confessions
I mean, well, that's an obvious, lol. What I meant to say is I never put pots and pans in the dishwasher. Ever. I have a large family so by the time I'm finished loading the plates, bowls, cups, etc, there's no room for any pots and pans. On the rare occasion there's room, I still wash them by hand. Old habits die hard, I guess. Well, I've been sick as a dog for almost two weeks, and my house is a disaster x10. Oh, but here's the good news....MY MIL IS FLYING IN TODAY! Yay me =/ So in a vain attempt to clean up before she gets here I loaded the dishwasher with as many pots and pans as it could fit. I figured what the hell, at least they won't be on the counters and dirty when she gets here. I didn't even rinse them off first, they went in dried days-old crud and all. They came out 100% spotless! I was really surprised, those fuckers would have taken some soaking and serious elbow grease if I had done them by hand. I was sure I was going to have to re-wash some of them.
Isn't technology grand? :)

I hear ya! We got a new dishwasher and I tried it one day. I have always washed them by hand and figured that it wouldn't hurt to try. Sooooo glad I did :) Saves me so much time! :) I know it seems like an obvious thing to do but my old dishwasher wouldn't get them clean. I think it depends on your dishwasher and the detergent you use. I use finish powerball tabs and always put a little bit of vinegar in :)

I've found the Finish Powerball Tabs work the best too. I don't put in vinegar every load, but periodically I do.
