I know someone who was behind on his Star card ( credit card for things like the BX on military bases). They took the majority of his tax refund to pay it off.

In Canada, if you owe taxes and don't pay, you just don't get a tax return or your EI, and quarterly GST. They will also garnish your wages if you're a year overdue.

You go to your HR. they'll have the info. Or pull the name from your court papers. Google it.
