Anyone know if you have your wage garnished if they'll take your taxes

Federal taxes can only be garnished for taxes owed for property or state , child support, and defaulted student loans. HOWEVER, a creditor can garnish your bank acct. The second the money hits it, they can withdrawl it and leave you dry

In the past I've had credit card debt, and no it was not taken out of my taxes.   I still got my entire amount back.

And yes, since  then I have paid off all my debts.

The IRS can take your whole refund and apply it to any back taxes owed.  No separate motion required.

Depends on what it is. Student loans, IRS, government fines or fees, cs alimony will all take your taxes.
